1 Timothy chapter 6 - 10 : For the love of money is the root of all evil; which while some covet after, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Money is important in our society, there's no way to live without it. Money makes the world go around, and we need it to survive. Money is a necessity, but it can be a detriment to us if we, aren't using it in the right ways. I guess that's why the bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. Money is like a drug or an addiction to some people, but we have to able to control it; and not the other way around.
The evilness of money has caused some of us to steal, rob and cheat to obtain it. The worse part of it, is it has caused some us to kidnap and murder one another to obtain it. Some of us don't care how we get it as long as; we have it in our possession. Money in itself isn't evil, it's when man start to think up evil ways to obtain it, that becomes evil in the eyes of God. The old folks use to say, if you don't work,you will steal. There are many scavengers out there trying to find ways to relieve us of our money any way that they can.
There are people that has thought up so many ways of defrauding the public, stealing, identity theft, scams, trickery, black mail: what ever works; just as long as they can get possession of our money. These same people have no part of God in them or they would do such atrocious crimes. I just had an incident with my bank, when someone used my information to defraud money from my account.; and caused me money, plus over draft fees. We shouldn't be paying for these conspiracies. Money can be evil, if we use it in a evil manner: rather than the purpose it suppose to be use for. Money can be a blessing, if it's use to help others; in services and in care.

Even the beggars on the street love money. Jesus and us saints don't have the sin of greed anymore that's necessary to go out and make a living. God performs miracles to supply our needs. This is called the 7th day rest in the Lord. A sinner can't love God and money. They either love money or the they love God.

Do you ever wonder why the rich and famous,have money to burn, but it seems they aren't ever happy. This hub is strictkly written in the biblical stand point, because the bible says these things about money; not because I said it. This is Gods word, not mines. we should'nt put all our hopes in money or riches, sure they help, but it doesn't solve all of lifes problem. I am aware that you have your opinion. I agree. I used to hear people misquote and say money is the root of evil or even that money is evil.
I like the NASB version of 1 Timothy 6:10, "For the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." The love of money is not the root of ALL evil. But the root of ALL SORTS of evil. If you think about it, pride is the real problem. It is pride that says, "I deserve this," or, "I want this, and it will be mine." Pride says, "I am greater than you," when the reality is that we are worthless without Christ. Pride gives birth to greed (amongst other malicious character traits), and greed produces the love of money. Which is idolatry.
