Definition of the word Tongue: A muscular organ attached to the floor of the mouth, a manner of speaking, a language or dialect.

Proverbs chapter 18 - 21 : Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it, shall eat the fruit thereof.

1 Peter chapter 3 - 10 : For he that will love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that speaking guile.

Psalms chapter 34 - 13 : Keep thy tongue from evil , and thy lips from speaking guile establish forever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Proverbs chapter 12 - 18 : There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

The tongue is a powerful dangerous and poisonous organ that kills and or gives life., We all possess these same powers. We can use our tongues wisely giving praises to God and positive feedback to our brothers and sisters in Christ or we can use it as a weapon and destroy people and their lives. Our tongues are very important because, it lets us express our thoughts emotions and actions.

But our tongues can cause death, heartbreak and pain if our hearts aren't right with God. With our tongues we have the power to give joy, understanding, and happiness to our brothers and sisters in Christ or we can our tongues to lie, cheat, steal,and to spew all kinds of obnoxious garbage about people that we don't know anything about; just by gossiping. we hold the power of death in our hand by using our tongue to spread vicious lies that might get someone killed.

Some many people have been killed by the power of the tongue, just by other people tattling on each other. Sometimes it's wise just to keep our mouth close and keep things to ourselves rather than to tell on some one and caused them their life. In order for us to keep our mouths clean from guile, we need to pray and ask God to put a watch between our mouth and keep the door of our lips closed, so we can't spread gossip and destruction.
